COMMUNIQUÉ ON THE EMERGENCY ACADEMIC BOARD MEETING HELD ON SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST, 2026

The Directors and Academic Staff of CETM College of Theology held an Emergency Academic Board Meeting on Sunday, 9 August 2026, at 4:00 PM to deliberate on important academic, administrative, technological, and graduation-related matters concerning the College.
The meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by Director of Finance & Personnel, Ms Nneka Okuchukwu, after which the Board proceeded with the agenda.
1. Introduction of the College’s First Online Student Portal
The College President, Professor Chukwuemeka Egberase presented the introduction of the College’s first official online student portal, which will enhance the delivery and administration of the College’s academic programmes.
The portal will provide students with access to their lessons and relevant academic resources. Students will be granted individual portal access credentials, while professors and academic advisers will also have designated access to enable them to effectively carry out their academic and advisory responsibilities.
The Board was further informed that the portal will automatically generate a matriculation number for each student immediately after successful enrolment. This is expected to improve student identification, academic record management, and the overall efficiency of the College’s academic administration.
The Board welcomed and approved the introduction of the online portal as an important step towards strengthening CETM College of Theology’s digital academic infrastructure.
2. Research Fee for Graduating Students
The Board also deliberated on the introduction of a one time research fee of ₦40,000 (Forty Thousand Naira) to be paid by every student upon registration.
The fee will contribute towards the academic and administrative processes associated with students’ research and graduation requirements. The Board acknowledged and approved the proposed research fee.
3. Presentation and Approval of Graduands’ Raw Scores
The raw assessment scores of the four PhD graduating students (graduands) were presented before the Board for review and consideration.
Following the presentation and deliberation, all participating members of the Board gave their approval to the presented raw scores.
The approved scores will therefore form part of the official academic records and assessment process of the concerned graduands, subject to the College’s established academic procedures.
4. Conclusion
The Emergency Board Meeting provided an important opportunity for the leadership of CETM College of Theology to address key matters relating to the College’s digital transformation, academic administration, research requirements, and graduation processes.
The Board expressed its commitment to ensuring that the implementation of these decisions is carried out professionally, transparently, and in accordance with the academic standards and objectives of the College.
The meeting was subsequently brought to a close after all matters on the agenda had been duly considered.
